Enroll in Multifactor Authentication
If you have not yet enrolled in multifactor authentication, the online banking service may prompt you to do so after you provide your user name and password.
If the online banking service requires you enroll in multifactor authentication, either or both of the Set up challenge questions or Set up phone numbers pages appear.
To enroll in multifactor authentication:
- From challenge question drop-down lists (for example, First challenge question, Second challenge question, and so on), select different challenge questions that you will answer when the online banking service prompts you to do so.
- In the answer field associated with each challenge question, provide the answer to the challenge question you selected. For security purposes, do not reuse the same answer as the response for multiple questions.
Note:
Click HIDE within a field to display masking characters in that field so that people around you cannot see the text that you type. For instructions and additional information, see Hide and Show Personal Information.
- Optional: If the Don't challenge me again on this device check box is available, select it to register the device to help streamline future sign-in attempts.
- Click Continue to submit your questions and answers. If the online banking service needs your telephone information, the Set up phone numbers page appears. Otherwise, the Home page ordinarily appears; if you are eligible to enroll in optional functionality, or if your user profile requires updates, however, an additional enrollment or user profile page may appear.
If the Set up phone numbers page appears, continue this procedure. If it does not appear, this step ends this procedure.
- Complete the following fields, if they appear.
Field Name: Type this information: Home phone Your home phone number. The online banking service uses it to deliver multifactor authentication passcodes via voice, if the feature is available. Mobile phone Your mobile phone number. The online banking service uses it to deliver multifactor authentication passcodes via voice or text message, if either or both features are available. Work phone Your work phone number. The online banking service uses it to deliver multifactor authentication passcodes via voice, if the feature is available. Work extension The extension for your work phone number.
Note: The online banking service cannot deliver passcodes to your work phone number if your work phone number contains an extension.
- Click Continue. The Home page ordinarily appears; if you are eligible to enroll in optional functionality, or if your user profile requires updates, however, an additional enrollment or user profile page may appear.
